I try to limit the things (and people) in this life that I hate. I have been wronged by some, but for the most part, I have let that (eventually) pass. But I hate money. What it represents to the mind of people, what people are willing to do for it, the life sapping power of it. People will throw away entire lives for the accumulation of it. Things are nice to have, but nothing is so precious as our time together. So, if you can buy a little time with a loved one by forgoing another pair of "killer pants," why wouldn't you? I have made a lot of money in my life, but I have only done so once to my embarrassment, only once debased myself, and then, only when those in charge said, "That's not what this is about." Ah, well. We never have been, and probably never will be rich, but what a life we have had. What a family we are. Life is the best stuff you can own.
