John Hughes

I am sorry to see him go at such an early age. I am not of the generation that was shaped by his films, but I understand his importance. And I loved "Ferris Bueller" despite the presence of Ben Stein (don't get me started). I wonder how Hughes would have done in the studio system, I think he would have been one of those yeomen directors whose work was always enjoyed, but I don't think he would have become a legend. But what do I know? I feel the loss of a man who was important to so many.
