This time of year
Dec. 23rd, 2004 12:49 amIt is the time when we have been stretched to the limit. Over worked, over emotional, over committed and over anticipating. We want to do so much, we want to feel so much. We want those we love to have everything they want, including the things that fill the heart to swelling fullness. We want to say the right things to bring the warmth of hot chocolate to the souls of the world around us. We smile at everyone (who doesn't steal our parking place) we enjoy all the children (except the screaming ones that keep us from getting checked out) The only thing we all have to do, this time of year. Give yourself a moment. A moment everyday, to let the world catch up to you. Stop, drink a cup of (tea, egg nog, hot chocolate, amaretto latte, whatever does it for you) put your feet up, and bask in the wonder of what this season can be. If you do that, you will be able to see that it does. Even when it seems that you will not be able to do, give, say all the things you wanted to. You will do what is important. If things get there at another time than when you planned, then there will be a later moment of joy for someone. "A present on Boxing Day? Wow, what a great thing. We had opened everything and thought the holiday was over. You have made it just a little longer." We choose Heaven or Hell to live in. Christmas is the former, and I choose it.
