Dear God,
I thought we should talk about some things that are bothering me. No, I do not expect you to directly intervene, just hope you can lend an ear (presupposing that you have one).
I have, recently, found myself fearing hope. It's all politics. There is a politician who is packaging and selling hope better than it has been done in years. I want to buy, but I have been hustled a lot in my life, as you know.
All I can do is hope that his hope is real. There are plenty of reasons to believe it is a hollow hope, a P.T. Barnum hope. There are also reasons to dismiss that cynical part of myself, and go along towards that tomorrow.
I have never stood against hope. It is the greatest bastion of the human spirit, with it we can do anything, without it we are as good as dead.
I hope the hope is real. I do not follow like a lemming, I walk with the commitment of one convinced that it is possible.
