6.

His eyes were filled with blood.

They were always blood red. He knew sleep might help, but that would denigrate the mission he had undertaken. He would not dishonor his beloved family.

He moved to the tubes. The metal cylinders held “The Sleepers.”

He stood ready to release these 15 engines of destruction. This time he would do so before revealing himself.

That had been his mistake the last time.

He came forward and the woman stopped him before he could supplement his power with the presence of his robot army.

Aided by these machines, created solely with the intent of destruction, even she couldn’t have stopped them.

“The Opposers,” as he called the alliance created to stop his quest, would not have fielded anyone nearly as powerful as the she devil he had fought before.

The world would fall this time. The cities who flourished on the ashes of his loved ones would themselves burn to the ground.

The music would turn to dirges, and then to silence.

The only sound would be tears that degenerated into coughing and finally the throes of death itself.

Then, blissful silence would usher him to his rest.

At last the world would know peace.

And the spirits of the Earth would thank him.

Then Vadid Shastan, and everyone else, would sleep.
