Up late in the middle of the night when I have finally decided that I cannot sleep without chemical help. Damn I hate that. I eschew pain killers until I am sure I can live, however uneasily, without them. But without some anahystamin I cannot sleep. Oh well, I wrote and after a couple of hours was finally able to get on LJ and post this, so I got something done. Yeah, like I never get anything done in the daytime. Oh, well. Maybe I'll watch a 1940's Universal monster movie. Yeah, I like that.
Quote for the night- "If a cow quacked, would that make it a duck? No, it would make it a cow
that quacked."
Just finished all the rewriting on "Serendipity Cinema: The Book
'101 Films You May Never Have Heard of, But Really Ought to See!'”
It will still need to be edited, but it is done (a with as many words as any novel) Once again I am reminded of how much I love to write. I miss my old "Road Typewriter." It was an ancient machine that had no power or style, but together we created worlds. My first two novels came from that anchor, night after night in hotel rooms after the shows. This computer keyboard is just fine and I have no regrets with technology, but so much of my life is disappearing. I am gettng old and my memories are of a place that doesn't exist anymore. Before computers, before Cable Television or even Video Tape (mcuh less DVD's) and a time when books were so beloved that they were my lifesblood. Bradbury knew about it. If I could live without air or water or food life would be lessened. But I would be devastated if there were no more books.
