My friends,
Dec. 17th, 2009 05:46 pmEven during the Viet Nam war, I never considered leaving my country. I love this nation, the potential it has offered and the majority of the people I have met. But after watching 2 days of news channel coverage I can only come to one final conclusion. My beloved America has lost its fucking mind. When Bachman and Beck and Limbaugh and O'Reilly begin to sound like the voices of this land, the dissolution of this once magnificent land has come about. When the power of the "Tea Party" lunatics has grown so large that they are now being considered a political power, then we are on the verge of collapse and the barbarians at the gate are welcome to come in. They cannot do worse than the country that will be left will become. A man came into the presidency in January that I had, and have, a great deal of respect for. He has done many good things and not done some things that I hoped he would. But he will be crucified by those whose hunger for whatever power they can steal is more important than the survival of America. Joe Lieberman, Dick Armey, John Boener, Eric Canter you should all bow your heads in shame. You have let being politicians (and petty ones at that) over shadow your pledge to serve the people. You may leave the government rich men, but you have been the leaders in the rape of the United States and have used your offices to persuade the most naive and angry people in this land to devolve into their most base selves, and have called that Patriotism. Shame on you. Shame on you.
