We'll be viewing possibly Pam's favorite film of all time,
Based on Daphne Du Maurier's best-selling novel about a young unsophisticated girl who marries a moody and prominent country gentleman haunted by the memory of his first wife. Fontaine and Olivier turn in fine performances as the unlikely couple. Suspenseful and surprising. Hitchcock's first American film and only Best Picture Oscar.
"Rebecca"

The next week? It doesn't get any bigger than:
Francis Ford Coppola's award-winning adaptation of Mario Puzo's novel about a fictional Mafia family in the late 1940s. Revenge, envy, and parent-child conflict mix with the rituals of Italian mob life in America. Minutely detailed, with excellent performances by Al Pacino, Marlon Brando, Robert Duvall and James Caan.
"The Godfather!"

After that? I'm thinking an Original Science Fiction Masterpiece.
(Start voting now for your choice from the 3) Either:
"The Day the Earth Stood Still"

(the original, not that mishmash remake)
or
"Metropolis"

(I have the new Kino with more restored
footage than anyone thought possible!)
The Movie Hitler wanted destroyed!
or
The film that Kubrick used to redefine what was possible
(Pam promises to try and stay awake through the whole film)
"2001: A Space Odyssey"

Five examples of celluloid poetry!

We don't show no klunkers!
