Spent an hour with one of the lawyers today. I hate complicated stuff. I do not see myself as a complicated man, some do, but not me. I am simple in the way the wind is simple and the clouds are simple. I just am. Manuals and workbooks and "falderall" make me nervous. I understand Peter Sellars more than most do, I think. It was hard for him to be in public without the safety of a character. He was quoted as saying, "Who would want to talk to me, when you could talk to Clouseau or one of the Goon Show Characters? They are far more interesting than I am." I understand that. Seymoure was a comfortable fit for a long time, but I am not angry enough to fit into him anymore. So I have changed him. He is in no way so confrontive, and now deals more in sage wisdom. Wisdom is characterized by listening, and then answering obtusely. When they can't figure out what you mean, they always think it's their fault. See, that was a character typing there, only because you were reading. Rather confusing, really.
