Just finished King's "Wizard & Glass" installment of "The Dark Tower" series, and I must say that this is the kind of ride we don't get in books these days. I tried to do this in my "Infinity Exprss" books, but King is so much better at taking us right to the point we think the story should go and then turning left and jumping out the window. This may not be the series you want to read if you are a King fan. It is not like any other King (maybe a little like The Stand) but it is the fantasy every writer longed to write in College, but could never find a publsher for, and so must give up. King has now reached a place where he can get that story told. It reminds me of Peter Beagle at his best, but edgier. Man, do I love books.
