Fans

As a performer, teacher & writer I have always had fans, and always loved them. I have always been a fan, too. But I have never been a Trekkie. I have seen every episode of every Trek show (have them on tape in fact) and have enjoyed them all (I even like "Spock's Brain," and the animated series) I just never let them take over. I love Buffy and Angel and have turned many people on to them, just like X-Files, Hitchhikers, Dr. Who and many other worthwhile shows. But I never seem to get as involved with them as others seem able to do. I like a lot of shows that never made it, Kolchak, Odyssey 5, Millennium, Legend (With Richard Dean Anderson), Jake 2.0, Firefly and many more. I would love for all of them to be back, but I don't get insane over them. I loved Highlander (Never got into Xena or Herc, but I'm still alive also) I remember when people argued that Babylon 5 was "way better" than Deep Space 9, and thought, it's DC comics versus Marvel, why not enjoy both with a little T.H.U.D.E.R Agents and Charlton thrown in? If you enjoy something, it doesn't have to be the best, it just has to be what you want tonight. Burgers and Fries are just a legitimate as Beef Stroganoff, depending on your mood. Too much time is spent going down one path when many paths get to the top. Sometimes it is good to go on one for a while, then another. Take the parts that work for you, let the rest good, and enjoy making happy choices. Spirituality works just the same way. "Moses, Buddha, Muhammad, Jesus, Einstein & Marx walked into a bar. The bartender still wanted to be paid for the drinks."
