I've been thinking about movies

Those who know me know how important films are to me. I think they are a teaching tool, as are all forms of story telling. There is only one way we humans learn and that is by experience. If it doesn't happen to you, you cannot percieve it. If you don't do it directly storytelling can give it to you. If you can link into the printed word, books can teach. If you have a good storyteller word of mouth can teach. And, if it is well done, a film can really teach as well as entertain. I ran across a book on Amazon called "The 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die!" And I began to think about what movies I would put in such a book. These are off the top of my head, so there will be a lot left out. But here are some movies that are beyond "My Favorites," and into the realm of "If you haven't seen this one, go check it out."

17. The Majestic

19. The Front

24. Beauty & The Beast (Cocteau)

As I said, this is a list off the top of my head. There are thousands of films out there, hundreds of great films. Films that will make you feel differently walking out than you did coming in. Which films would you enter into a list? Not just, "I really like this film." If that were the case I would have entered "The Great Escape" and "The Court Jester." But, what films had the power to change your outlook on the world?
