Dear Al,
It's been a while, and I thought I'd drop you a note. You know about all the ruckus that's been going on, and I'm sure you don't need to talk about it anymore than I do. Maybe now things can get back to normal. That's what the letter is about. I wanted you to know that my life has been good. You have a fantastic niece and a glorious grand niece and grand nephew. You would love them, they are the light in my day. I met your daughter and, my dear brother, she is more than you could have hoped for, and you must be very proud. When we were growing up we discovered the world together and talked about everything. You were the one who knew my secrets and I knew yours. Those things have changed. For the last couple of weeks the world cared a great deal about both of us, but not for the reasons either of us would be happy about. Now they will go on to the next bread and circus' and we can continue on the paths we now walk. The thing that does not change is that I miss you and the friendship we could have had. Our children could have played together, we could have watched movies and laughed together and done whatever it is that brothers who grow old together do. But, I know you're here. And you'll be waiting for me when I get there. Till then I'll try to keep it together down here. Know you are loved, and that there are a bunch of us who will never forget you. wayne
