Julie Andrews tells this story in her Autobiography. During the TV Tour of the White House Mrs. Kennedy showed the audience a record player in their bedroom. On the turn table was the cast album of "Camelot." She said that the President played the last bit of that album each night before they went to bed. The fist night after the assassination, the show went along as normal until they reached the final scene. When Richard Burton sang the words "Don't let it be forgot, that once there was a spot, for one brief shining moment that was known as Camelot" The entire theater collapsed into sobbing. That was what that moment meant to us.
