A piece of my heart left the earth this day,
All of us are burdened with an excess of worldliness,
When a lady has her hand kissed,
It will never again be so lyrical,
When a gentle word is spoken,
It will have just a bit more harshness than before.
The gentle souls of earth are less in number today,
But heaven has a new greeter at the gate,
To ease us all on through
With a grace and dignity that could only come
From my friend Tommy.
